August 2003 - Gary tipped for US Top 10! |
BBC
Radio 2 reported this evening that a remix of Gary's Love Won't
Wait has been produced for the US market and shortly to be released
there.
No mention of date of release, but they did say that it is expected
to do well and reach Top 10 in the US charts!
What a surprise! Here's hoping that it is a huge success and
that Gary has a change of heart and comes back out to us all
Wonderful news!! |

July 2003 - Gary to fly out to work with Donny Update |
|
It
seems that Gary didn't go out in May afterall. The latest
edition of Donny's newsletter, released today, 4th July 2003,
says:-
"In
a couple of weeks my producers, Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy
will be arriving from England and we will begin writing for
the next album. I'm really looking forward to working with
them again."
Why
not go over to http://www.donny.com
and sign up for the Newsletter, it's a good way to find out
news about Gary working with Donny.
|
| Many
thanks to Vicky on the Message Board for prompting me to read
my latest edition of Donny News, which was sent out on 7 May,
in which Donny writes the following:-
"Since
I arrived home from the tour I have been revamping my home
recording studio. It's going to be so nice. I did most of
my vocals for "Somewhere In Time" there and most
of the writing for the next record will be done in the new
studio. Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, (my producers) are
flying over in about a month to get started on it with me."
Why
not go over to http://www.donny.com
and sign up for the Newsletter, it's a good way to find out
news about Gary working with Donny. It has to be one of the
top official websites on the Net, it is certainly one which
Donny obviously devotes a lot of his time to, in order to
keep his fans informed and up to date with his life.

April 2003 - Gary closes official website! |
|
Well
spotted by Alex on GB FANS Message Board! The Gary Barlow
Official Website is no more!
I checked out the domain registration and it appears that
it was DETAGGED (whatever that means) on 17 March 2003, which
probably means that's when the official site was removed from
the web
It seems that Gary has finally closed that chapter on his
career, but it is a huge disappointment to fans for the site
to have been removed - even if it was just an archive. Yes
Gary may have moved on, but he still has fans and always will
have as long as his music is there. It's a shame he doesn't
recognise that!
Still, onwards and upwards, I hope this new career will bring
him as much success - if not more.
For
our part, GB FANS remains. We will still carry on bringing
news as and when we hear it. The Christmas parties and other
events will continue.

February 2003 - Gary's Atomic Rumour! |
|
Reported
today in the Liverpool Echo:
"TAKE
That heart-throb Gary Barlow is being tipped to help Atomic
Kitten stay at the top.
It
is rumoured that the Liverpool-based band are holed up with
the former boy band member at his Cheshire home, working on
new material.
The
Kittens are expected to release a new album, and it looks
like Barlow could be helping them pen new tracks.
Liz,
Jenny and Natasha have already scored number ones in both
the singles and album charts, and hope to follow with more
this year!"

December 2002 - Gary featured in BBC2 Documentary |
|
The long awaited "Talent Shows" programme featuring
Gary, in the Fame, Set and Match series, is being shown
tonight as a "Christmas Special".
The
programme begins at 9.00 pm (UK time) on BBC2. It features
stars and artists who have come to prominence through appearing
on TV Talent Shows. This obviously relates to Gary's appearance
on "Song for Christmas" all those years ago!
Other
stars featured in the show are Britney Spears, Sheena Easton
and comedy duo Little & Large. The programme has interviews
with "colleagues and friends" (quote
from BBC's Radio Times magazine) of the people featured,
including Donny Osmond, Andi Peters and Eliot Kennedy.

October 2002 - Take That Rumours Untrue! |
|
The article in The News of the World is not true! Not sure
where they got their information but it is doubtful that it
would be from Howard because Mark and Howard have spoken in
the past two years - they actually met up earlier this year,
as most of us know.
Mark's
official website (http://www.markowenofficial.com)
have put the following message onto their Message Board, which
they have kindly allowed me to publish here:-
"Hello
everyone
I
have waited until I was able to speak to Mark's management
to get the official line on the article that appeared in the
News of the World (and subsequently on various TV and radio
stations) on and after 20 October 2002.
Although
they know that this may be a disappointment to some of the
Take That fans, Mark is unaware of any discussions having
been held regarding a Take That reunion.
Once
again, it appears a classic piece of "journalism"
has appeared in the newspapers.
One
point I would also like to make is that IF there were any
news of this kind, it would be announced here. Mark would
rather let you all know, as loyal fans, any plans that are
in place (wherever possible) which would happen before it
would appear in a gossip column in a Sunday newspaper. As
he has said in his message at the beginning of the site -
"This is the only site where you can confirm anything
you may have heard relating to me as any official news will
be posted here first."
Best
regards
Webmaster "

October 2002
This
should not clear things up for everyone. Is it just "coincidence"
that this article appeared just as a certain EX member of
Take That is about to release his new CD?

October 2002 - BBC2 Documentary about Gary! |
|
BBC 2 will be screening a programme about Gary on Saturday,
30 November 2002. Still waiting to hear of exact time
of broadcast.
The
programme is 1 in a series of 10 being made by Talkback Productions
about celebs who have won talent competitions and then went
on to be famous, then what happened to them when the seemed
to go out of the limelight. It's called "I will Survive"
and tracks Gary's career from when he won the "Song for
Christmas" competition to the present day in his very
successful new career as a songwriter/producer for other artists.
Amongst
those being interviewed on the programme about Gary are Donny
Osmond (Gary worked on his latest album); Andi Peters (from
OZONE and Gary's mate); Eliot Kennedy (business partner) and
someone called Berrington - a fan I understand!!
It
appears to be a very positive programme, certainly the questions
I was asked were positive and nothing negative.
Amongst
others to be featured in this series are:-
Sheena
Easton
Freddie Starr
Little & Large (comedy duo from the 70s)
Can't
remember who else!!! European fans may be none the wiser anyway
- well apart from Sheena Easton!

August 2002 - Gary prasied by Donny Osmond! |
|
Many
thanks to Karen P on our mailing list, who informs us that
she was lucky to speak with Donny Osmond in his web chat at
the end of July and Donny confirmed that Gary and Eliot had
indeed been working with him on his latest CD! Karen says
that Donny spoke very highly of Gary and Eliot who are very
busy right now producing Donny's CD!

had a lovely posting on the message board from Rami, who is
marrying his lovely Debbie today, we thought it would be nice
to share with everyone here:-

into the marriage room as Forever Love is played, as that is
our song. We love this song and look forward to sharing it with
our close family and friends. Thanks Gary".

happiness!

the Barlow Manorhold!

April 2002 - Erm . . . OOOPS! |
|
I
had a bit of an accident with the Message Board, which has resulted
in it not being accessible at the moment! I have called in the
cavalry (in the shape YABB Admin and our server providers),
so hopefully it won't be too long till it's sorted!
Please
bear with us until it's fixed - meantime, you could always
use our Yahoo Club at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gbfans
to leave messages - it seems we have a general CGI problem
at the moment which means that the Guest Book is naff too
(not my fault that one!!)

March 2002 - New Boyband, An Update! |
|
Further
to our news yesterday. Gary was in Liverpool this week, at
LIPA (Liverpool Academy for Performing Arts). Unfortunately,
we missed the full news report, but it seems he has been auditioning
people for a new boyband he and Elliot will be producing.
We will contact Radio City News Centre to see if they will
enlighten us any further with the rest of the story.

March 2002 - New Boyband! |
|
It
was reported on Liverpool's Radio City News tonight that Gary
and Elliot are in the middle of putting a new boyband together
and are down to the last 15! Not sure if this is rumour, speculation
or fact, but could be a very interesting development. We will
let you know if we hear any more.

March 2002 - Rumours or Fact? |
|
It has been reported in the Press that Gary and Eliot Kennedy
are working with Donny Osmond on his new CD. We have contacted
Donny's people on his official website to see if we can get
any confirmation about this. As soon as we hear anything we
will let you know!

January 2002 - Problems with Message Board |
|
Our network provider has moved servers in the last 24 hours,
which has caused one or two problems for us - not least of which
is that the Message Board is currently not working and over
120 messages have disappeard! We have contacted our providers
and are busy trying to repair the problem.
It
seems that back up files have been uploaded from 27 January,
which could mean that any messages posted after that date are
now lost. It will not allow postings at the moment, but we are
hoping it won't be too long before it it sorted.
In
the meantime, how about coming over to the Chat ROom between
21:30 and 22:30 hrs GMT each night. We are going to make Monday
nights a regular "meet up" night for anyone who would like
to join us!

November - Gary Fan Club Closes - Gary News! |
|
Reported in THE SUN, Gary fan club closes. Once again, the
rumours are true . . . the fan club is closing, members received
their final Newsletter today.
What
the SUN didn't know was that this also marks a big turning
point in Gary's career. He is moving on to develop his music
by becoming a songwriter and producer for other artists. Gary's
heart has always been in his music rather than actually being
a celebrity, so he is now moving on to develop his skills
in this direction.
He
has no plans for recording any more albums, nor indeed any
more Tours. That does not rule out a possibility in the future
perhaps, but it is an understandable move on his behalf, given
that he has a young son who he wants to enjoy watching grow
up!
Gary
sounds very happy and enjoying the time he is spending developing
his music and learning new production skills. We wish him
all the best in the future and look foward to the day when
he might decide it's time for a bit of a get together for
us all!
For
our part, GB FANS will be here for as long as we are wanted!
Gary may have changed direction, but we are all still fans
and even though he won't be around as much, we can all still
be here together!

August 2001 - "I Love 1992!" TV Programme |
|
Tune
your videos in to BBC2 at 9.30 pm (GMT - UK time), because
"I Love the 1990's" has reached 1992! The show will be presented
by Mark Owen and will feature Take That. 1992 was the
big take off year for the group, with the success of "It Only
Takes a Minute" and "Million Love Songs".
We
were hoping to see a bit of "Do What You Like" in this week's
show - 'I Love 1991!" - but it wasn't to be!

August 2001 - Fan Club Hotline Updated |
|
The fan club hotline
was updated on 3rd August. Here are Mike's words, which we
have edited and shortened to just the relevent bits.
"Welcome to the Gary
Barlow Fan Club Hotline, this message was recorded on August
3rd . . . . .Long time no speak. I have good news, I had a
transatlantic telephone conversation with Mr Gary Barlow a
couple of weeks ago and have recorded an in depth and very
candid interview with Gary, which will be the main content
of the next Newsletter.
Gary is very well
and extremely happy in the USA, where he will remain for most
of the rest of this year. Full details will be given to you
in the Newsletter which will be out in August and which you
should all have received by the middle of September.
Thank you all for your continued
support and for being there"
Good news, we are certainly
looking forward to reading that interview. Here's hoping he
has a few new pics of Gary to go with it.

July 2001 - Fan Club Update |
|
We have just heard
from Mike and the good news is that he is planning to interview
Gary in the next week or so, to gather information for the
next Newsletter, which he is hoping will be published by the
end of August.
Obviously, much depends upon
how quickly Mike is able to gather the information and Gary's
schedule, but this is certainly good and welcome news for
us all! Definitely something to look forward to!

with regard the Fan Club. Mike did not answer the questions
we raised, stating that he had sent our emails to Kristina
for advice and he is awaiting her response. As soon as we
hear anymore, we will let you know.

June 2001 - News from the USA! |
|
Many thanks to Trine
for finding us the article below. We are checking this news
out, but it may well be that Gary has actually only rented
a home for the duration of his stay. Will report back when/if
we hear any official confirmation.

Gary Barlow tries
luck in US. Singer hopes to rebuild ailing career.
Gary Barlow, the
former Take That singer, has decided to quit Britain and move
to Los Angeles in an attempt to breathe life into his ailing
music career, PeopleNews can reveal.
Barlow, accompanied
by wife Dawn and his son Daniel, has quietly acquired a property
in the beachside suburb of Santa Monica. The singer will use
the house as a base from which to relaunch his career, concentrating
on writing and production.
'Gary's really happy at
the moment,' says a friend of the singer, who has failed,
despite predictions to the contrary, to achieve the huge success
enjoyed by his former bandmate Robbie Williams. The friend
adds: 'He's delighted with his son and his career's going
really well. And he just loves LA. He's working with all sorts
of artists like Gloria Estefan. It's a great time for him.'
Don't read too much into
this yet, you know the Press! It may well be, as we say above,
that Gary has actually only got the house to use during his
stay, which is expected to last until early Spring 2002.

May 2001 - Extended Stay in the USA |
|
We have heard from
sources close to Gary's contacts that his stay in the USA
has been extended until around February 2002. We understand
he is currently in Los Angeles, still with Dawn and Daniel.
We assume he will
be popping home at some point for a visit, but as yet no details
are available.
Not sure what this means
with regard to the Fan Club and the overdue Newsletter. We
will try to find out and report back as soon as possible.

May 2001 - Change of Servers |
|
We are currently in the middle
of changing the servers that the GB FANS website is being
held on. Most programs seems to working fine, but please bare
with us whilst we adjust certain things.
The MessageBoard will be
back up and running again, shorlty. All new and very much
improved!

March 2001: Gary featured on "My Kind of Music" |
|
Well, for the second
week on the run Gary was featured on "My Kind of Music", Michael
Barrymore's tv music quiz on ITV Channel 3 (shown tonight
- 2 March).
LWW and PRAY were
the featured clips in the competition to name songs from 1997
and 1993.
Good to see a show
actively keeping Gary in the limelight:) Well done to all
at "My Kind of Music". Definitely a Gary fan in that team
somewhere!

January 2001: News from the Fan Club Hotline |
|
Mike updated the Fan
Club Hotline on 18th January with a bit of a gaff! He was
mentioning that "tomorrow, the 19th", would be the
big 3 0 for Gary!!! Erm, excuse us Mike (hehehe)!
Mike went on to say that Gary would
shortly be off to the USA on another song-writing trip to
LA, New York and Nashville. Gary is expected to be away until
early summer, so there will be no news with regard to Gary
until that time.
It is hoped that there will be an edition of
"In Conversation with" out in Feb/March, but Mike says don't
hold him to that because if there is nothing to tell then
there is no point in sending out a newsletter. He asks us
all to keep on being patient with the Fan Club, that they
are still there for us all but until such time as there is
news they can't guarantee regular 3 monthly newsletters
