| 25 Sept 98:
Gary and Ronan |
| This news was taken from the BBC
Website dated 6th July 1998.
Ronan and Gary Write Together
Boyzone's Ronan Keating has said he's collaborating with Gary
Barlow. The two are writing together, although at present
there are no plans for them to release anything. Ronan made
the revelation to the Net yesterday at the massive Prince's
Trust concert in London. Along with Boyzone and Gary Barlow,
the bill featured Natalie Imbruglia, Tom Jones and the Corrs,
among a cast of many others. Gary opened the show after Simple
Minds pulled out, and was joined on stage by Howard Donnell.
Although Gary and Ronan didn't perform together on this occasion,
it seems we may get to hear something from the two of them
before two long: "Were good friends and were doing
some writing together so Im sure that something will
pop up in the future. Were just writing anything, just
writing words, were just writing a few tunes together."

| 1 Aug 98: Messages
For Gary |
| In co-operation with GB FANS we
have decided that it would be a nice idea to gather messages
for Gary to make a special 'Gary Barlow Fan Message Book' which
will be sent to him.
We feel that Gary is feeling a bit low at the moment due
to his delayed album and tour and could do with some kind
words from us all to show him we still love and support him.
If you would like to participate and send a message to Gary
there are three ways that you can do this:-
- Email your message to gbfans@yahoo.com,
- Complete this special Message Form
- Or send a snail mail (by post) message to the below address:
GB FANS (Messages For Gary)
106 Saxon Way,
Shevington Park,
Kirkby,
Liverpool,
L33 4DQ, UK
This is not a message book from GB FANS, but a book from
ALL Gary Barlow Fans! Once we have enough messages they will
be pasted into the book and sent directly to Gary in the post
with a covering 'Open' letter, giving credit to all those
that take part in helping.
For those of you with your own Gary Barlow web pages, We
would like to encourage all other websites to join in this
by mailing your members with the above details or perhaps
linking direct to the special GBWS Message Form (link now
out of date), you will obviously give you full credit on this
in the covering letter because we want to unite together to
show Gary we are all here for him. If you feel able to help
then please email GB FANS
to let them know

News/Gary In Argentina |
| For the latest news from the Official
Fanclub please be sure to visit the GB Fans Website Latest
News section, where they have information on the up and coming
CD being distributed shortly.
Gary's show on 20th April in Argentina was a great success
by the sounds of it, here's what Luis had to say about the
gig;
"There were 3.600 fans at Gran Rex Hall in the heart of
the city of Buenos Aires, at meters of the Obelisco, the most
popular monument of this capital of Argentina. There were
specially young girls but young people and adult persons as,
as well. Something extraordinary was the contact and the feeling
between Gary and the audience. This was said clearly by Gary
when he noticed that all the people were singing in perfect
english all the songs. Gary spoke directly in english and
everyone understood him. It was wonderful!!! Tonight there
will be an other similar presentation. It was a strong and
'hot' concert (in Gary's words), but the central moment was
the lyric play of Forever Love with three candles on the piano."

GBWS Members Meet Gary |
| A BIG congratulations go to Linda
(mum!) and Ellen (members of the GBWS Forum) who won a competition
to meet Gary backstage at his show in Belgium, here's what they
had to say about the big day!
"As I said before , we met Gary in person last night . The
meeting was very very short! There were about 20 people ,
and it only took 10 minutes to talk to all of us, so that's
about 30 sec per person . Not much I hear you say , but it
was worthwhile . He kissed us, signed the Tourbook , and when
my daughter offered him the chocolates , he said : 'Oh , I
think I'm gonna be fat again!!!' When I told him I was Ellen's
mum, and that I might be a bit too old to be a Gary fan he
went : 'Hi MUM' and 'Oh no your NOT too old to be my fan!'
How kind of him. Ellen told me afterwards that she could feel
his heart beating, when he hugged her, and that his sweater
felt so nice and soft! The magazine's photographer took pictures
of us, we can't wait till they are ready!
Afterwards we went to the concert, but Kinane had already
started her show, so we had to stand at the back, and couldn't
see very well ( I'm glad I saw the show in Utrecht the day
before). But we felt soo happy, that we couldn't help smiling
during the whole show!
So that was it, a very very short meeting with Gary , but
for the two of us a dream came true!"

Gary Barlow's Christmas Treat |
| This report was kindly written
by Jan Berrington about a half hour TV Interview with Gary on
Granada TV (UK) on 30th December 1997. It was recorded at a
Chelsea Harbour hotel, two days before the Concert of Hope.
"Gary said that he didn't realise how popular he was until
he went to buy the Take That dolls and looked for one of himself
at TOYS R US in Chester. He went to where the dolls were on
sale but couldn't find one of him, so he went to the sales
counter, feeling dead chuffed because he thought they'd sold
out and asked the girl where the Gary Barlow dolls were. She
said that he would have to buy Mark, Jason, Howard and Rob
and then he could send off for the Gary doll free!!!! He also
said that the day of TT break up was the weirdest day. He
turned off the telly an hour before the interview and drove
to the Manchester Hilton at Manchester Airport to do the Press
Conference. On the way home he switched on the car radio and
heard it on the news, when he got home he switched on the
tv and it was on ITN News. He hadn't realised what had been
going on! The interviewer asked Gary what his favourite song
was. Gary said "Back for Good" because at that point all the
TT members felt that they had got it all together and the
blend was right.
He was then asked a number of questions:-
Q: Most asked question:
A: What does it feel like to
be a Solo Artist?
Q: Worst habit:
A: Flicking peoples ears, which
he does very well!!
Q: Worst subject at school:
A: First said History but then
changed his mind and said Languages.
Q: Tell a Joke:
A: Cut to Brazilian tv crew setting
up then came back to Gary, having told a very rude joke!!
(not televised)
Q: Have you ever lost your
temper:
A: Not very often. Tends to be
about stupid things like car won't start.
Q: Favourite Pudding:
A: Apple Crumble and Custard.
(What happened to Banoffee Pie?)
Q: Best Holiday Ever:
A: Butlins Holiday Camp, Skegness
when he was 5. Came 3rd in a Tarzan competition.
Q: First Ever Gig:
A: As a magician at his dad's
pigeon club. Everyone thought he would become a magician in
the days before he became a musician.
Q: What do you think of hotel
food.
A: Has a World score card for
Club Sandwiches, 1-10.
When asked if he was surprised at how big he is in countries
like Sweden and Japan, Gary said he was. He was amazed when
he arrived at Kuala Lumpur airport and there were over 100
fans waiting for him."
