Below we have tried to document and answer all the questions that we have been sent many times before and also questions that may have crossed your mind at one time or another....

Is GB FANS an offical website or club?
Flattered as we are that people presume we are an official organisation, we would like to clear up the fact that we are NOT an official website or organisation - we are a group of fans who are trying to get our fellow fans together to make new friends and have a great time! We are a completely independent group, run by fans for fans - putting your interests first!

However we do have contact with the Official Fan Club on a regular basis in order for us to sort out any problems that arise from our visitors/club members regarding their application or membership to the Official Fan Club.  Though you should first try writing to them direct with your problem.

Both GloBe Artists and the Fan Club are aware of GB FANS and do try to help us if they can, but they do NOT endorse us in any way. The Official Fan Club has just launched the brand new Official Gary Barlow Website at address http://www.garybarlow.co.uk

If I write to you will you pass my email on to Gary?
We apologise but we cannot pass any messages on to Gary on your behalf, apart from the fact that he is a very busy man, unfortunately so are we and it would be impossible to pass on every individual message we receive.  Nor are we in a position to pass on any information regarding to his home address or prescence on the internet due to protection of his privacy, so please don't ask us!

We do, however, run MessageBook campaigns every so often on the website and at conventions, where we place all messages into one file and pass them on to Gary.  Watch the news page for the next one!

How do I benefit from becoming a member of GB FANS and why do I have to pay?
Becoming a member of GB FANS entitles you to priority information about our events.  You will also receive 6 of our postal mail Newsletters a year and in your Membership Pack you will receive a GB FANS badges, personalised bookmark, window sticker and a photo, plus you will be given your own personal username and password to enter our special Members Only area of this website.

The cost of membership is very reasonable and is currently priced at £5.00 for UK members (for international prices visit the Join GB FANS page). Once your membership is up for renewal all you need to is pay for the next 6 Newsletters, currently priced at £3.00.  In an ideal world we would not charge a thing for joining GB FANS but we haven't quite won the lottery yet, so until then it covers the cost of printing and posting and any other money left over goes towards our event costs.

What's Gary's home/email address?
Our policy here at GB FANS is NOT to give out any information regarding personal addresses so please do not ask. We feel that Gary deserves a bit of respect for the little privacy that he has left in the world!

I love what GB FANS do, is there anyway I can help?
Yes! We are always looking for volunteers and helpers in every aspect of GB FANS. You could become a co-ordinator and organise events and dinners for us or even help us to promote GB FANS at the numerous concerts he will be doing later in the year. If you think that you have a special skill you could offer us, such as designing merchandise etc, then drop us a line. GB FANS is a non-profit organisation, therefore anyone that wishes to help does out of the goodness of their hearts.

How old is Gary and what does he do in his spare time?
Gary's birthday is 20th January 1971, which makes him the grand old age of....28! He's very much a home loving lad and can think of nothing better than relaxing at home in his rather large house in Cheshire. He has two dogs called Jess and Jim which are from the Take That days, a trout lake and some tennis courts to keep him occupied (as well as his girlfriend!). His parents and brother also have houses on the same land.

Gary spends a lot of time listening to music and has been known to buy over 100 CDs a month (boy what a CD collection), he has a love of all things antique and his fave film at the moment is Star Wars! For more information about Gary, check out the Biography section.

Why does Gary keep postponing his tour?
Gary's tour has now been postponed twice! It was orginally set for November 98, then postponed to April/May 99 and now it is all set to happen in December 99.

During March of this year we were contacted by Gary's management company who asked us to pass a message on from Gary himself about the postponed tour, here's the gist of what was said:-

"I know you're all pretty fed up about the tour and about the long wait for my new material but the fact of the matter is that I have to finish the new album. I love touring as you all know so this wasn't an easy decision but if I don't crack on I won't have any new material to play to you let alone release!!

"For one reason or another, the production side of things has got really delayed due to people being ill or unavailable, producer's having babies etc and this is the only reason that the tour has been postponed. I don't ever want to give any of you anything that isn't my absolute best especially when you've all been so supportive and kind and so I hope you'll understand why this has happened. "

In a recent BBC Watchdog programme Gary assured fans that even if he had a 'broken leg', he would be walking out on stage in December.
