 "Forever Love Club" First

sharing lives and sharing days..."
And we shared a great day
with Gary fans! It was not only a cloudy day, it was special day!
On Saturday 8th August at
2:30 p.m. about 40 fans reached the San Martín Square, in
the downtown of Buenos Aires, to share a great moment with us. It
was the meeting of the “Forever Love” fan club, which
has 200 members and which is also recognised by BMG Argentina.
So, Vito (the vice-president)
and Vale (one of the presidents) arrived at the square at 2 p.m.
We recognised the faces, some came in groups, others alone, and
with friends. Some had the TT chain (as always), others had badges
with Gary face on it, others were wearing Gary T-shirts. You could
feel it was like a Gary atmosphere.
We couldn’t help remembering
Gary only and first visit here, in April’98, so photos of the
concerts were all around the fountain of the square. Then, we told
the fans the latest news about Gary, and we gave them 3 hand out
sheets, one with news and photos. We knew the question was coming.
‘Is Gary coming back?’, a fan said. ‘We don’t
know’ we had to say, ‘We hope so’. ‘Oh!!’
Was the answer. We knew it, it’s the same question we wonder
every day. We're looking forward to the time we could tell them
he’s finally coming!! :O)
Anyway, they are happy to
know that Gary is preparing new stuff, and so they also gave us
some letters for Gaz due to the latest campaign: “Message to
Gary”. We asked them to put their names in a paper and then
we placed them in a box and raffled 2 photos and 2 cassettes (with
different versions of So Help me girl and the concert of Buenos
Aires live). It was great to see the smiling faces of the winners!
On 9th August (Sunday)in Argentina,
it’s the “Child’s day” so we asked every fan
to bring an old or new toy with them to donate them to a Children
in Need foundation or hospital. We never imagined that their collaboration
would have been like it was. Every fan who reached the square gave
us a bag full of toys. A lot were new, that’s very surprising.
So, there we were, with 5 bags so heavy and big that we had to take
a taxi to get home!
We then we went on remembering
Gary visit ‘cause it was so magic, like a dream. We also talked
about projects and the structure of the fan club.
Some of the fans then started
to leave, we greeted them and thanked them for coming and joining
in. We also told them about the next meeting: 5th September at 2
p.m. in the same place.
The boxes with toys are about
to be send to schools of other provinces of our country: Formosa,
Salta, Catamarca because those kids need toys more than the ones
in Buenos Aires. They are far, they are not in the main city of
the country and so those provinces are not that rich, and also some
people forget them, but we are remembering them and considering
their situation (they were affected by flood and most of them are
poor) we chose them and we know we’ll get a smile on their
faces once they get the toys.
